My students need sensory items to help them calm down and focus throughout the day. The wobble chairs/cushions will also help my fidgety students remain in their seats and focused.
I have the pleasure of teaching 40 pre-k students each day who are eager to learn and explore the world around them. My students are so excited to come to school and are always willing to learn new things, but often times face struggles in their ability to calm down and stay focused. These sensory materials will help the students who have difficulty staying focused by offering sensory breaks to calm them down and focus on skills being taught.
Being able to provide sensory breaks and flexible seating options will help them to remain focused and can help them to calm down.
Having the tunnel tent, pogo jumper, balance board, balance rocker and sensory blocks will allow me to be able to set up a sensory area in the room that will help my students become more successful. These items will also be used for students to be able to take a sensory break when they become disengaged. Wobble chairs will also offer flexible seating for students who have difficulty focusing and remaining seated during instruction.
My Project
My students need materials such as balance beams, sensory blocks, pogo jumpers, balance rockers, and tunnel tents to use when they become overactive and can't focus. The sensory center will be perfect for my preschool students who struggle to sit still and stay focused during instruction. Students will also benefit from the wiggle chairs and cushions so that they can sit during instruction, but be able to have some movement without distracting their classmates.
We hope that not only will our students have fun in the sensory center, but will learn how to self-regulate and use the materials/center on their on before becoming a distraction to their classmates.
