Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Young students in their first couple of weeks of stating school will encounter a multitude of feelings. They often come to school scared, feeling lost, and worried about where their parents are and when they're coming back to get them. We need items in the classroom to help these young children with their feelings.

Having a calming corner in the classroom gives kids a safe place to sit and calm down when feeling stressed, angry, or scared.

Checking in with students every morning about how they feel is also important to see who may need extra support throughout the day.
