Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The benefits of having a calming corner will support students in regulating their emotions. Having items such as a sensory table, kinetic sand, and Picasso tiles can help students utilize their hands to help process big emotions.

When students are able to use these materials, they are learning how to take mental breaks, channel their energy into something creative and then be mentally ready to begin or return to their school day.

It is very helpful when they look to me as a person they can confide in and want to talk about what is on their mind. This is something that would've been helpful for me when I was in school. Students need support in not just learning, but also in their social and emotional well-being.
