Calming Corner With A Hint Of Flexible Seating

Help me give my students a new calming area in our new classroom to help develop and maintain their social-emotional skills. The carpet and pillows will allow us to have that area.

My Project

All of our students do everything that they can to do their absolute best in class and sometimes that can be stressful. We have just recently moved into a new portable classroom and I am seeing how important it would be to have a place in our class for students to take a "breather." With these items we request such as a carpet and pillows, we can create a "Calming Corner" in our classroom for them to utilize throughout this school year.

Having a place for them to process, understand, and regulate their feelings will be vital in developing strong social-emotional skills.

It will also help our students understand that emotions are a normal part of life, however, we need to learn how to not let our emotions take over. I am asking for help to create a safe and comfortable place for our students to learn and grow into amazing human beings.
