With this project I am hoping to create a warm and welcome environment that also fosters higher learning. I can see how having to sit in a hard plastic chair has a negative effect on my students. Some have trouble sitting still which is only natural for a child with so much built up energy. I am looking to create a classroom that allows students to chose their way to sit. That is why I am seeking varied places to sit such as beanbag chairs, yoga pillows, rubber ball chairs, and large pillows. Just imagine when you were back in elementary school and having an option on how and where you sit. I believe this will also help detour misbehavior since being uncomfortable can lead to aggravation which only has negative effects on both behavior and learning. Through this project my students will have a comfortable environment that will help them concentrate on what is presented to them and not how uncomfortable their chair is.
