Calming Corner - a Place to Cool Down

Help me give my students materials to create a cozy calm down corner. We need floor cushions, tree stump stools, crayons, emotion charts, pencils, and notebooks.

My Project

Sometimes students need a calm down corner to help them get ready for learning. Students have a lot of emotions to navigate throughout each day. From getting to school and following directions, second graders are constantly being told what to do and when to do it. Some students need some extra time in a quiet space with activities to meet them where they are before they can learn academics. Creating a Calm Down Corner with stools, fidgets, therapy toys, calm down boards, and other items, will help students navigate through their feelings, learn how to express themselves, and provide an appropriate outlet so they can continue to learn.
