Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are bright, fun and energetic pre-k through eighth grade scholars. We have rigorous instruction, fun Special classes and engaged families. Sometimes, our students need a break to refocus, recenter and have a much needed sensory break.

We are creating a shared Calming Closet, where teachers can borrow items to help students meet their sensory needs.

In this closet, we will have reusable items like fidgets, sand timers and much more. This project is just the start. These items will be lovingly used, sanitized, then returned for others to use the next day or week.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
