Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We would like to create a safe space for students to help them decompress and support their mental health, so they can re-entry into the classroom and be ready to learn. As mental health clinicians working with school students, we understand the importance of providing students with therapeutic activities and interventions that can help them cope with classroom and personal difficulties.

We will be using evidenced based tools to encourage students to express their thoughts and feelings.

Journal activities will allow students to process their thoughts and feelings in a safe and private space, identify patterns and triggers, and develop coping strategies.

The art supplies will be used to encourage self-expression and creativity.

We have also included tools to address student's different sensory needs, such as Therapaputty, fidgets, sand trays and music.

The combination of these resources will provide students with the necessary tools to improve their emotional and mental well-being, increase their ability to focus, engage in their education, and build resiliency to achieve academic success and increase self-regulation.
