Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have a diverse group of 12 students with varying social, emotional, and learning needs. Along with the expectations of learning to read, write, and count, they also learn to manage their emotions when overstimulated due to their unique needs.
Our students will use the items listed in this project in their break space to decompress from the rigor of their academic and social demands.
Items such as sensory lights and fidget toys will help them calm down in a safe environment. They will also have access to books to help them remember strategies for self-managing their emotions appropriately.
