My Project

I am a psychiatric social worker at my school (grades 6 through 12) and focus on supporting student socio emotional wellbeing at school. I provide individual counseling, group counseling, conduct classroom presentations, and host school wide campaigns. These tools will help me support students in learning how to express their emotions, how to regulate their emotions, and utilize effective coping mechanisms to manage many of life's challenges. In my work with students, I plan to engage each student through positive rapport building (utilizing getting to know you cards). I plan to utilizing various tools such as art (markers and crayons, rainbow scratch paper), mindfulness (mindfulness coloring book, fidget toys), and mental health posters (feeling thermometer, emotion wheel) to accomplish these goals.
