Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A calm down area will allow my students to be aware of their own emotions. It will give them the opportunity to have a place where they can calm their sensory systems and take control of their emotions. It will let my students know there is a place for them to go to find calm moments. Taking these kinds of breaks encourages children to develop important social-emotional skills.

By donating fidget toys it will help calm my students nerves, it will relieve stress or anxiety that they might be feeling.

I will use the bean bag and rug to provide a very soft cozy calm area for all my students to feel very comfortable, relaxed, calm and safe.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
