Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach Early Childhood Special Education students in a Preschool for all learners. My student's ages range from three to five years old. One of our goals is to help our students learn about their feelings and emotions.

Providing them with strategies and materials to help them self-regulate is beneficial to them.

The materials listed will help us create a welcoming and relaxing area for students to use as a way to learn about their emotions and how they are feeling. The rug, the bean bags, and the pillows will make the calming area feel inviting and encourage students to go to the area. The emotional plush, the sensory items, and the calming boards allow students to have different outputs and strategies to help them be aware of their feelings and grow in their social-emotional development. The strategy will help the student in the calming area and everywhere else.
