Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having a designated calming area would allow my students to practice their coping skills and self-regulate using their senses of sight, smell, hearing, and touch. Availability of calming area would also provide a safe space for my students to engage in conversations and encourage creativity using clay and Rubik's cube. Calming area would also introduce different medium of stress relief such as Tibetan singing bowl and balance stones. Calming area would allow students to choose best coping strategies for their specific uncomfortable emotions. Calming area would allow my students to take a peaceful break away from their classrooms.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
