This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The ongoing stress, fear, grief, and uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic have weighed heavily on children and teens. Many are having a tough time coping emotionally.

When feeling stressed, play therapy and creative projects are very effective ways for children to connect with their peers, feel safe at school, understand their emotions and feel better.

In this project, I would like to have some easy to learn games for students, such as Connect 4, Jenga, and Dinosaur Dig Kit. The lego set will help them feel better by building something creative and help them feel proud of their creation.

I would also like to help students by offering plushie pillows for them to cuddle up, squeeze and hold on to when they are feeling stressed or upset.

In addition, providing art and craft supplies for each student is another effective way to lower their stress levels. These art supplies include color paper, paint, slime, twistable crayons.

Last but not least, the teachers pay teachers gift card can help me find more useful Social Emotional Lesson resources, so I will be better equipped with the skills, knowledge, and materials for teaching SEL lessons.
