Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal for our Calming Area is to provide a safe space for our students to not only identify any BIG feelings they might be experiencing but also be able to utilize the tools to self-regulate.

By funding this project, you will be providing all students who enter the Calming Area a safe place which will be conducive to a positive learning environment.

The bean bags along with the lava lamps will be an area where students can go if they need a moment to calm down and need some quiet time. Books, along with the weighted lap pad for kids will assist students identify feelings and implement proper coping skills to self-regulate in order to integrate back to daily routines that supports their learning experience. Our The goal for this space is for our students feel safe and secure.
