Calming Area

Help me give my students a Calming Area where they can independently implement the strategies learned from our social emotional lessons about self-regulation. Kids need a space where they can feel safe to de-escalate and self-manage. Thank you!

My Project

A calming space will be a safe area where my students can emotionally regulate.

This opportunity will help my students to be more engaged during lessons and get along better with their friends socially.

The couch and beanbag chairs, along with the various calming supplies, will be amazing tools that will provide comfort, peace and acceptance when my students are feeling anxious, stressed, angry or sad. A calming is space is about feeling safe to feel all those emotions and also be given the opportunity self-sooth at one's own pace.
