This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Good morning, We hope you're doing well. Thank you for reading our new classroom idea.

I have a beautiful class family.

My little learners are responsible, respectful, hard working and kind.

My students would love to have a calming area in our classroom.

A calming area builds students' social and emotional skills.

It is a useful strategy to teach self-management. Having it available at school helps students process an experience or de-escalate when they are having a difficult time. The calming area will serve as a designated safe and confidential space that students can access when they are feeling overwhelmed, stressed and/or anxious.

Your support in donating the items needed to create the calming area will assist with the social and emotional growth of students.

The access to items like an area rug, plush toys, sensory toys, calming lights and books will encourage my students to identify, recognize and be able to navigate emotions.

Thank you in advance for providing my students with the essential materials to get them prepared for success. Your kind donations will make a tremendous difference in all of my students' academic lives and emotional well-being. Thank you for making a kinder, happier, and braver world for my students.
