Our little ones deal with many transitions throughout the day.
Sometimes these transitions take students a little longer to adjust to and as they are adjusting they may sometimes feel anxious.
One way for our students to become aware of how to adjust to our daily transitions is to teach them to identify and adjust their focus and feelings. Additionally, some of our students find it stressful to transition back to school after a long weekend or break and these resources will be especially beneficial to their social and emotional wellbeing.
Our goal is to teach students to use grounding techniques through the use of their five sense. The resources we are asking for will provide students with the experience of smelling scented putty, hugging and feeling soft plush toys, engaging with fidget toys and enjoying soft lighting.
Taking the time to identify students' feelings while helping them work through them is easier with a calming area that includes calming tools, a feelings book, soft plush toys, a worry plaque, pillows, beanbags and a rug.
