Calm Strips for College-Bound Kids

My Project

Students are more stressed than ever, struggling to figure out their path, aching for connection, and still off-kilter from the effects of Covid shutdowns. Calm Strips offer a solution for anxious students: sturdy, textured stickers students can trace when feeling anxious and un-grounded. Furthermore, after providing calm strips from my own finances, I found students really responded to being gifted something from a teacher, even something as simple as a sticker to help them with anxiety. I personally find Calm Strips soothing, and I have seen them aid many students in my classroom.

My students are high-achieving but also highly anxious; Calm Strips offer students sensory input to regulate their emotions and address their anxiety in a discrete, calming way.

Each strip has a pleasing design on one side and a re-stickable adhesive on the other, allowing students to place the calm strip on a phone, computer, bookmark, or water bottle. They help students regulate their energy, find a point of connection, and for the breathing stickers, remember to take a few deep breaths. Calm strips improve focus, reduce anxiety, and promote wellness.
