This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students listen to great music without complaint. Through cheap computer speakers, classical music and West Coast jazz instrumentals are played in the background while they work on their assignments. Yet, the actual sound is distorted, jarring, not calm, and not musical.

Focus on work ebbs and flows, yet music with quality keeps students involved longer.

They realize that their math work must be elevated. When they pause to listen, they know the room has an almost sacred difference from other places.

I am requesting speakers for better music while they work: classical and jazz Instrumentals. The math room has to provide better sound than earbuds. Students don't give up phones easily. Real classical and jazz engages and relaxes. Better-powered speakers are the key. Subduing distortion removes edginess.

Our school has no music program. The math room provides music that the students truly never hear otherwise. Please help make it memorable.
