My Project

Junior high school can be a difficult and overwhelming time for many teens as they navigate academic pressures, friendships, emotions, and personal growth. I truly care about my students and want them to know they are supported, valued, and safe at school. Creating a calming and recentering space would help students feel cared for while giving them healthy ways to manage stress and emotions throughout the school day.

My students would greatly benefit from a calming and recentering space to help them successfully return to class ready to learn.

Many of our students experience stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm throughout the day, and having access to simple comfort and regulation tools can make a significant difference in their ability to focus and engage academically.

We are requesting items to help create a warm, calming environment where students can take a brief reset when needed. A cozy rug would help create a welcoming space, while paints, coloring materials, and fidgets would provide healthy outlets for stress relief and self-regulation. Access to drinking water and tissues would also help meet students’ basic comfort needs while they process emotions and regain focus.

These materials would support students in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and resilience while helping them transition back into the classroom environment feeling calm, supported, and ready to learn.
