My Students

I am a school counselor who runs a program called Skills For Success for students who are dealing with trauma and need extra support. Most of my students struggle emotionally, socially and academically and need me to help them with basic social and emotional skills several times a day. Each of my students see me at least 3 times a day to learn coping and social skills during our check in and check out process. My student also come to see me when they need a break when they are too overwhelmed within their class.

My Project

These boards can provide a therapeutic release for students who are struggling with emotions which are preventing them from learning. These boards allow students to use water to be creative and paint what they are worrying about and as they dry the picture disappears just like what is bothering them. These boards come complete with everything they need (besides water) and are reusable for years to come so they will not only be helpful to my students this year but all my future students. These boards can help me teach my students coping strategies and can be used without disturbing other students learning.
