My Students

My kindergarten class is a group of 19 students in a co-teach setting. They are eager to come to school, make new friends and learn new things. My students come from various socioeconomic backgrounds as well as having different educational needs. All students feel loved and accepted in my room.

Kindergarten is a big change for many of my students.

Some have not been in a school setting before. We have activities such as center time to help transition our students into the school routine.

We use a variety of tools and hands on activities in the classroom to help make learning fun. My students are always on the move, anxious to see and learn new things.

My Project

My project will expand the sensory center in my classroom to meet the needs of all students, especially those with special needs. I am hoping to add more squishy sensory balls, water bead squishy toys, water bubble timer and double sided breathing boards with finger paths.

We all have different ways to relieve stress, using the sensory objects students will be able to reduce anxiety and help to meet their social emotional needs.

With a wide selection of sensory items, I will be able to have a group time to use the objects.
