My Project

I am happy to say that I almost have everything I need to keep my students calm, full, represented and welcomed with open arms into my classroom and I couldn't have done it without you donors. I recently procured a donated bean bag chair that has broken at the seams and has had to be sewn shut only to reopen again and again. I need this chair for a student who has seizures and when not in use, for my calming corner along with a small lap blanket.

DonorsChoose donors have been awesome helping me fulfill the needs of my students in my classroom where I teach special education reading.

I am currently down to my last box of granola bars and need to make it to the end of the school year. The kids have loved the granola bars the most for a quick grab and go snack to help them focus on classwork or when it is too late to go to breakfast but hours away from lunch.

I am excited for Black History Month and NAAPID (National African American Parent Involvement Day) coming up in February and want my students to feel represented in my classroom from the outside to the inside and these great posters will do that. We always have a door decorating contest as well and my theme last year was "You are your ancestors wildest dreams." I am hoping one of these posters will inspire my students and I to create something magical and welcoming for families and be reminded of the greatest that is within each of them.
