This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am hoping to add a new pastel classroom carpet to serve as the heart of our kindergarten classroom. In kindergarten, the carpet is where so much learning happens. Students gather there for morning meetings, read-alouds, phonics lessons, math instruction, movement breaks, and class discussions throughout the day.

A soft pastel carpet would help create a calm and cozy atmosphere for my students.

Gentle colors can reduce overstimulation and help young learners feel relaxed, focused, and comfortable. The carpet will also provide students with a clean, comfortable space to sit together while building classroom community and participating in hands-on learning activities.

Since I am moving into a kindergarten classroom, I am starting fresh and working to gather the essential materials needed to create a nurturing learning environment. A high-quality classroom carpet will become a daily-use item that supports learning, collaboration, and emotional well-being for years to come.
