This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

STEM Makers, that is! Every year, we have a Family STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Night. It is my teacher dream for this year's Family STEM Night to be a "Maker" theme.

A Maker's theme would be a celebration of creating and making things.

It would entail experimentation and play, a fun way for our school's culturally diverse families to learn about and interact with the STEM concept.

The items I have requested are STEM kits, some with instructions, some just for experiementation. Many of our students and families are hesitant to participate in the Family STEM Night, but when they hear it is a Maker theme, I am sure they will be more willing and excited to attend.
