Calendar Rug for First Graders

My project needs 31 individual squares on the carpet so that each first grade student will have their own spot to sit.

Where do you often find first grade students when they are in the classroom? As a first grade teacher in a DC public school, I know that my students spend a significant amount of time on the rug for group instruction, games,class meetings and house keeping. A piece of "exciting" and "academic" calendar carpet with 31 individual squares enables students to stay within their learning boundary, as well as moving around for calendar games. It also adds recognizable efficiency to the daily instruction. What's more important, a unique calendar rug helps our 6-year-old kids learn to use days, months and years through various rug activities, such as "Star of the Day". Every day kids touch days of the week, feel months of the year and memorize them in a fun way.
