Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year, the children's publishing world announces the latest winners in different children's literature awards categories such as Randolph Caldecott, John Newbery, Coretta Scott King, and Pura Belpre. The winners and honorable mentions are announced in January.

This project is intended to help give students access to these high quality books.

I work in a school where the majority of the students are Latinos. The Phenomenal AOC, A Land of Books: Dreams of Young Mexihcah Word Painters, and The Notebook Keeper: a Story of Kindness from the Border are all great resource to add to our library collection to help students find mirror images of themselves in stories.
