This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The calculators and the other requested supplies have a vital purpose in my classroom. The calculators are essential for my students to compute return-of-investment (ROI), net returns, and other business financial formulas. Having accurate financials is critical to a business's bottom line. Our class, currently, lacks significant calculators for each student to have access for assignments, project-based learning, and assessments (i.e. summative and industry certifications). We are seeking your assistance to provide my students with the foundational, fundamental equipment - calculators.

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' application and understanding of financial reporting, calculation, and accuracy on industry certification exams.

Our students are making strives every day to earn their industry certifications. The calculators already have a "home" within our classroom home. In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The graph paper will be used to create future store-front, pop-up, event space, or app design layouts that reflect the discussions we have during our mini-lessons.

By implementing the use of essential fundamental tools in business-like setting, I would like to see my student's metacognition become automatic when evaluating if a business idea is financially feasible or if modifications are needed. my students will begin to see themselves as true authors and illustrators. We will use these materials to aid us in the process of becoming life-long business decision-makers. As a career & education teacher, I realize that real-world application in a classroom environment is vital to building a student's confidence before heading into an enterprise. I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
