This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project aims to introduce and integrate scientific calculators into the math curriculum for students from underserved communities, with the goal of improving their learning outcomes and attitudes towards mathematics. Scientific calculators offer a range of functions beyond basic arithmetic, enabling students to explore complex mathematical concepts and solve problems more efficiently. By providing my students with scientific calculators and integrating them into the curriculum, I aim to level the playing field and give my students the advanced tools they need to succeed in math and beyond.

With this project, I hope to improve my students' academic performance in math, as evidenced by higher test scores and grades, improve their confidence and interest in math, and develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills that are transferable to other subjects and real-world scenarios.
