My Project

My classroom is full of students who are just about to leave the comforts of high school and enter into the real world. They have a desire to be ready and prepared for the tasks ahead of them whether that be college, trade school, or entering the work force. My students have had a tough year, but they have shown their perseverance as they continue to make the best of a difficult situation.

These calculators will be the tools that will help them overcome simple learning barriers from foundational arithmetic and become successful critical thinkers.

Math more than the ability to spout out number facts quickly; it helps students become efficient and creative problem solvers. Calculators are great tools in enhancing students' mathematical literacy and confidence.

Calculators in my classroom would also remove the distraction of the use of cell phones for calculators. When cell phone use is minimized, student focus and engagement increases significantly.
