Welcome! We are so glad you're here! Our classroom is one lively place full of play, literacy, math, science, music, art, and lots of exploration. Thanks for stopping by.
My Kindergarten students are a lively bunch who love to learn and play.
These kids mean the world to me and I want them to be successful and proud of themselves. This group has a diverse background, though, coming together on the carpet and collaborating we can get to know each other even better. We are developing a sense of self for each child through their play, social skills, partner learning, one on one conferencing, getting parents involved, and making sure they are aware of the world around them.
My students love coming together each morning to do our morning meeting. This is a chance for my students to connect with me and their peers daily and for us to build classroom climate and community in our space. Beyond our morning routine, we would like to add a new carpet to redesign our learning space.
This will allow us to practice our collaboration skills during class lessons/discussions, heighten engagement in literacy and math centers, and to become a true center of inquiry as we interact with stories and technology to support learning kindergarten skills and content.
We would like to add a carpet that has ample space for all 25 students to sit and move about. We are not looking to just decorate the space; we want to use the space in more innovative ways to amplify student collaboration and learning.
