My Students

We are a brand new school that opened our doors this fall. We have an extremely diverse student body with over fourteen different ethnicities represented and 55% receive a free or reduced-price lunch. Now that we've gotten to know our students, we realize we need hands-on programming material to help them get used to coding and working together. To do this, we will be using Bee-Bot robots and Edison robots to help students learn to collaborate and problem solve during our library time. Our students are so excited for the chance to not only learn to code, but to learn with engaging and fun (and adorable) robots.

My Project

We will use the Bee-Bots to provide grades K-3 with hands-on coding experiences. So many of the fields our students will enter will involve creative problem solving, logic, and being able to use coding principles. The Bee-Blots will provide students with the chance to learn these once abstract concepts in an exciting and concrete way. I will use them to apply coding concepts to support math skills, geography and map reading, and also to work on coding and logic. Over 200 students will have the opportunity to use the bee-bots, providing hands-on coding experiences for over half our growing school.
