My Students

My English classrooms are a place of challenge and discovery as my students work to build upon basic general course knowledge and move toward higher level course work. My students are from a low income areas and oftentimes, buying a newspaper is considered a luxury item.

We currently do not have a school library, and many of my students do not have resources to access reading material at home.

I am wanting to purchase fiction and non-fiction novels so that my students will have access to reading material.

My Project

There are few words needed to express the importance of reading. In our area, WiFi is not available in many areas at home and students do not have access to a library at our local high school. These books will give our students a place to go, since they are stuck where they are! Please consider helping to put books into the hands of our students. Our high school has approximately 550 students, grades 9-12 and your contribution will reach many that would otherwise have no way to purchase novels.
