Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are all unique and learn in many different ways. They are curious and need to be able to actively participate in their learning environment.

Our school has students ranging from pre-K to fourth grade.

My classroom consists of 15 amazing children. They range in age from three to five. Some of my students have Individualized Education Plans. The students with disabilities in my classroom vary. I have students who are unable to walk independently; students who are non-verbal; and students who have sensory needs that impact their education and social skills on a daily basis.

My students come from a variety of cultures, socioeconomic sectors, and family structures. Although they are all unique, they all have a common goal to be lifelong learners. They are curious and energetic. They play and move to learn. Even at a young age, they learn to work together to explore their environment and solve problems. My students have so much to offer, they teach me every day!

My Project

When my students return to school after the new year, we will be starting our study on clothing. If my students are able to manipulate and look at books independently such as A Pocket for Corduroy, Llama Llama Red Pajama and The Mitten, they will continue to develop and enhance their early literacy skills.

Memory games help young children to increase their attention, develop critical thinking skills and improve working memory.

With these resources my students will also have the opportunity to explore busy boards.

The boards will help to not only strengthen their fine motor skills, but will also allow for practice with self help skills.
