it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember how excited you were to go shopping for school supplies? I do and I still am, only now my supply budget has been cut and most of my students can't afford school supplies. We need the basic: pencils, erasers and an electric sharpener!
My 1st graders attend a Title I school in New York, which means that 98% of my students are on free or reduced lunch.
Many of the children come to school on the first day with little to no school supplies. I want my students to have the supplies they need to be successful. Despite all the difficulties my students face, they are eager to learn and a wonderful group of first graders. They make coming to work a joy!
My Project
Pencils and their accompanying sharpeners are a fact of life in schools. They may not be the most glamorous part of our day, but they are the most useful and necessary tool. Please help our class! A manual sharpener just doesn't work. We need to get the job done quickly. Normal electric sharpeners work for awhile and then just can't keep up with the volume. Your generous donation can help us get a high volume sharpener, pencils and erasers.
We really need your help.
Please help our class get a pencil sharpener, pencils, and erasers. Your support will mean the world to my class and future classes to come. Any amount you can donate would be appreciated.
