I am a 3rd grade teacher working in a low-income area, where 98% of the children receive free lunch. I have a wonderful group of students who love coming to school each day. I enjoy coming to work each day and seeing their smiling faces. Despite the many obstacles that surround my students they love to learn! They need a lot of help in their basic phonics, math and reading skills. We have some great programs for the computer, but unfortunately all the children do not get an opportunity to use them. Many of my students do not have a working computer at home or they may not have access to the Internet. When they do get a chance at using one of the computers at school, they just love it.
