Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the best students in the world! My school is located in a high-need community. Most of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. I have students from all different countries. My wonderful students come to school with a smile on their faces, ready to learn.
Although they struggle with extreme home situations, they often want someone to guide them into learning.
I enjoy coming to work each day and seeing their smiling faces. Some students' home lives are a bit more chaotic, which leads to a high transient rate. Quite a few of my students come from unstable homes, so the classroom needs to be the one constant in their life. They need to feel safe and provided for. Despite the many obstacles that surround them, they love to learn!
My Project
Chromebooks are fantastic for the quality and affordability. My students will have daily opportunities to excel beyond the daily curriculum. The two Chromebooks already have a place in my classroom ready for them! We simply need your help getting them into our classroom!
These Chromebooks will aid students with their learning in phonemic awareness, reading fluency, and math foundation skills.
These students come to my class at least one grade level below. Using the Chromebooks with educational programs I have already, will give them the practice on skills needed to build a firm foundation. My goal is that each student will be on grade level, or surpass their grade level by the end of this school year. We would love for you to be a part of our success!
