This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are making a leap from desks to tables, whiteboard tables to be exact! 21st-century learners have to be able to work with others in an environment that fosters and inspires collaboration and creativity. If this project is funded, my students will do just that!
This table will be a big part of our classroom transformation and will allow us to build our ideal learning environment, where students see and understand the power of "we" instead of "I", and where they let their inspiration and creativity fuel their learning with activities and projects that challenge everything we know about traditional approaches to education.
Students will use this table every day. On the whiteboard surface, they will practice, play, problem-solve, and they will grow. I can see the students practicing math problems on the tables. They will use different color markers to identify different steps in solving equations. I can feel the excitement of writing on furniture as opposed to lined paper, imagine that! This whiteboard table will change our classroom and the way that we approach learning!
