Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are Investigators! I want to provide my students with exciting experiences across all content areas.

I am the blessed teacher of 16 bright, inquisitive first graders.

They never cease to amaze me with their fearless attitude when it comes to learning new things. Our school is located in a low-socioeconomic area. Although our school district does everything it can to provide as many resources as possible for our students, often the resources I would like to provide for my students are simply unavailable.

My Project

We have been doing dual modailty since November 4. I currently have 12 students in class and 3 online. However, December 7, I will have 14 of my student back face to face. I have worked hard to prepare our classroom space for my students, but I have noticed a lack of appropriate clothing for the cooler weather we are receiving.

In the past I always had “extra coats” for recess or days that a student came without.

With COVID-19 I am in need of more to ensure that we are not sharing. These coats will ensure all of my students are dresses appropriately for the cooler temperatures.
