This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our current science curriculum is a great curriculum that supports students in building their science writing and speaking literacy. The only thing that it is missing is a deep dive into body systems. My students have been asking all year if we will be doing a dissection. I would love to give them the experience of dissecting a vertebrate as it was one of the formative experiences for me in high school and cemented my love of biology.

With this kit we will be able to dive into doing a bull frog dissection at the end of the year after completing MCAS.

I think it will be the perfect kinesthetic activity to close out a strong year of solid learning. The hope is they will continue to learn about body systems through this wonderful vertebrate.
