Building Young Engineers One Block At a Time

Help me give my students STEM marble runs, log builders, bristle blocks, pipe tube construction sets, engineering building toys, and engaging STEM books to inspire creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.

My Project

This year, I am excited to welcome preschool students into our STEAM program for the very first time! My young learners are naturally curious, creative, and eager to explore the world around them. They learn best through hands-on experiences that encourage them to ask questions, solve problems, and use their imaginations.

To help foster that curiosity, I am requesting a variety of open-ended building materials, including a STEM marble run, log builders, bristle blocks, pipe tube construction sets, and other engineering toys.

These materials will give students opportunities to design, build, test, and redesign their creations while developing critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, and fine motor skills.

Storage boxes will help keep our building materials organized, accessible, and ready for young learners, allowing students to independently choose, use, and return materials while creating an organized and efficient STEAM classroom.

I am also requesting engaging preschool STEM books that introduce engineering, building, problem-solving, and perseverance through age-appropriate stories. These books will inspire many of our STEAM challenges. After reading together, students will apply what they’ve learned by building towers, bridges, mazes, and other creative structures that connect literacy with hands-on exploration.

These resources will provide meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, encourage teamwork, and inspire a lifelong love of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Your support will help create an exciting classroom where every preschooler can imagine, discover, and become a young engineer.
