My Students
I teach TK-5th grade science. Students come to my science lab ready to explore and discover the ever-changing world around us. I also like to incorporate technology in the lab; however, funds make it difficult to do so as readily as I would like. The things I love the most about my students are that they are so inquisitive and love to learn as much as they can about science and technology. They are special in all the grade levels I teach by the way they come in smiling and ready to learn!
My Project
These materials will make a tremendous difference in all my students' learning across multiple grade levels. The LEGO WeDo 2.0 kits will guide students to use teamwork to reach a common goal by using 21st-century learning skills. The kits combine engineering, technology, and problem-solving. All kits come with curriculum aligned with NGSS and combine the traditional Lego bricks with hands-on STEM learning while building computing skills.
My students are from low-income households and my schools are Title I which means funds are limited to accommodate technology and engineering on a broader scale which unfortunately limits my students' learning needs in the 21st century to a minimum.
