I work with a lively group of students with learning difficulties. They struggle to complete academic tasks without lots of repetition and practice. They love when learning becomes a game and they can interact with what they are learning.
My students are filled with a love of life and learning.
They are very active and need lots of encouragement and repetition to acquire new skills. They don't let their disabilities hold them back from accomplishing new skills and meeting new goals.
My students are hands-on learners, but they often struggle with the fine motor skills necessary to complete tasks. They need to develop these skills in order to hold a pencil correctly, zip and unzip clothing, and open containers. These are essential skills for every person to develop, but they often get overlooked in our busy classroom.
I would like to help them develop these skills through a fun, creative way.
The kits and activities are designed to help them develop the necessary fine motor skills needed for life and to also have the ability to be creative in the process. We will use the activities during free choice time and recess as a way to allow students the time to practice their skills.
