My Project

I am a first grade teacher at an arts integrated school with a class of 24 wonderful students. They each have a desire to learn and a hunger for knowledge. But how they get there is where their differences shine.

These materials will help those readers who are needing a more engaging and hands-on way to build their early literacy skills so they can become solid readers.

Studies show if students enter the 3rd grade behind in reading, they will never catch up.

Our job as a class is to meet the needs of all students in engaging ways through interesting books and technology during small group literacy centers. The Osmo bases are used in conjunction with our school iPads, which are a required piece to supplement the Osmo Interactive letter recognition game I have requested as well. The books I am requesting will help build our classroom library to ensure we have a variety of books that interest my diverse readers.
