Building the Physical Computing Classroom

Help me give my students exposure to phyical computing! My python class shares Arudino kits but this grant will give my kids their own kits (12 ELEGOOs). The additional supplies will let us build a CUSTOM LED wall!

My Project

Currently my computer science classes are great at exposing students to the wonders of code - but they are lacking in the crossover from the theoretical to the physical. This grant will enrich student learning with students hands-on Arduino microprocessors that they can use to build their own small sensor driven devices. Currently my new Intermediate coding class has a half-class set of microprcessors - but now each student will be able to have their own!

The rest of the materials in the grant will go towards letting us create a programmable LED light wall.

This will go in the hallway - advertising CompSci and promoting the crossover between art, computers, and engineering.
