Many of our students come from low income families with limited resources. Some of the students come from broken homes, some are raised where drugs are present, and some suffer from neglect. It is our goal to provide resources and supplements to give every student the best education possible. We also strive daily to give them love and a fun learning environment.
Kindergarten is such a valuable time in a child's life.
We are learning to write, read, draw, how to share, how to be a good friend, and how to control our behavior. Our students range from EC to ready to read. We celebrate every small victory according to the student (stickers, treat box, candy, free reading center, etc).
The pandemic puts many restrictions on our normal activities. We are working hard to make things as safe and fun as possible. We are doing lots of hands-on activities in our core subjects and adding art when we can as well. They love to paint and we love to watch them express themselves.
My Project
STEM projects allow our students to use math, science, writing, and their imaginations to build structures. The keva planks will help them expand their possibilities. We have built with marshmallows, toothpicks, candy, pretzels, and q-tips in the past. While these are great for hands on, they aren't very stable. We also plan to journal their activities for future reference.
STEM activities will prepare our students to be successful in an ever changing world.
These students are our future and STEM projects will help them to be ready for the career path of their choice. Thank you for helping them be all they can be.
