This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten class is comprised of students who are eager to learn. Despite some limitations that affect urban city students today, they are full of endless possibilities that reflect in their attitude and their work.

Kindergarten students are in the early stages of development and it is critical to give them the foundation now.

This will allow them to have a brighter future and help build a better world tomorrow. Your donations will help us to get the tools we need to ensure they can get the most out of their education.

My Project

Not all students want to be the star of the show, some would like to melt into the background and support others. Just like some students want to build the background of the stage rather then be in it. I have a lot of hands on students this year. They like to build (and take down) structures.

Teaching is all about taking a students talent and making the curriculum fit around them.

Magna Tiles are all the rage with younger students. The tiles can be formed into many shapes. The Duplos can also build a great background. I would like to be able to capture the backgrounds they build on the computer and have other students create stories that we would be able to record using the chromebook.

The chromebook would be able to face them, so not only are they recording their digital stories but they can see themselves. Over the years of teaching I have realized it is important for a student to see how they are talking when they are experiancing difficulties pronouncing words. Watching themselves and hearing how they say words is great instant feedback for young learners.
