Building Strong Readers One Word at a Time

Help me give my students a magnetic CVC word-mapping kit that develops phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, blending, and spelling skills by using magnetic letter tiles to build and map CVC words during reading instruction.

My Project

Learning to read begins with a strong foundation in phonics and phonemic awareness. Many of our students are developing essential early literacy skills and can benefit most from hands-on, interactive learning experiences. The Lakeshore All-in-One Magnetic CVC Word Mapping Kit will provide engaging, multisensory opportunities for students to practice building, reading, and spelling consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words.

By using magnetic letter tiles and word-mapping activities, students will strengthen their understanding of letter-sound relationships, segment and blend sounds, decode unfamiliar words, and improve spelling patterns.

These skills are critical for developing reading fluency, confidence, and comprehension.

The Lakeshore All-in-One Magnetic CVC Word Mapping Kit will be used during whole-group phonics instruction, teacher-led small groups, literacy centers, and targeted interventions. Because the materials are reusable and interactive, students can practice independently while receiving immediate visual and tactile feedback.

By supporting this project, you are helping create confident, capable readers with the foundational skills they need to succeed in reading and across all academic subjects. Your generosity will provide students with engaging literacy tools that make learning both meaningful and fun.
