Building STEM thinking

My students need help to have the most relevant tools to use as they are learning science. The become more engaged while learning important skills. This can happen with Building Bricks!

My Students

My school is Title I and my classroom is very diverse. In my classroom there is a minimum of six languages each year. We have many refugee and low-income families. They are excited to learn and love being at school in a safe environment.

My students are enthusiastic, have high energy and a willingness to learn.

The love the opportunity to be able to use things they have never seen before. Their excitement towards learning is why I am a teacher!

My Project

Being in a Title 1 school supplies are not easily found. Giving my students a chance to be able to apply what we are learning in science and math to actual materials would be awesome. The Building Bricks are going to be used for critical thinking skills used in science and math. The Strictly Briks Baseplates will be used with the building bricks to build the science and math investigations. The Alpha Briks and Math Briks will be used to make math equations to make learning more fun and engaging

This would be very engaging and help to develop their critical thinking skills.

These opportunities for students to collaborate, investigate, and work in small groups to solve problems would make learning ten times better. This makes the projects more exciting and getting more student involvement! Learning for first grade is very kinesthetic and it will come faster if the materials are their fingertips. My students don't normally get an opportunity to use STEM materials so having these in my classroom would be the best bonus for their learning!
